When taking the photo, it has to be a profile/side view at the eye level of your dog's head and neck.
Tips
- You need to see all their head, ear and neck, ideally without a collar.
- You shouldn't be able to see their second eye.
- The image needs to be nice and sharp, it's so much easier to paint from a good-quality image.
- It's great to have someone helping you to take the photo, a treat or a squeaky toy works wonders to get them looking in the right direction!
- No panting.
- Doesn't matter what colour your dog is, as you will be painting the class using just three colourful paints.
- As silly as it sounds make sure the photo looks like your dog, try to capture a look you love and makes you think "That's so

The images of my own dogs (past and present) below will hopefully help :-)
